Another day, another MLS season. After Sunday’s Decision Day, the 2022 regular season is in the books. Hopes were dashed. Dreams were crushed. Champagne was popped. It was, in so many ways, as truly wild as all MLS seasons should be. But how did it compare to last season? Cascone: It’s not time to panic after the United States’ loss to England
On Friday, the United States women’s national team fell 2-1 to England, the reigning European champions, in front of a crowd of 76,893 at Wembley Stadium. The U.S.’s loss marked the end of the USWNT’s 21-game unbeaten streak that dated back to the 2021 Olympics and featured some sloppy possession play and a handful of defensive errors.

Morrissey: Racial abuse allegations overshadow this weekend’s games
In a week with important games for the USL Championship’s Western Conference playoff bubble and the Eastern Conference’s home-field advantage, no story was bigger than the racial abuse allegations made by Monterey Bay FC against the Tampa Bay Rowdies.
On October 4, the USL announced an open investigation into abusive language used on the field during Monterey’s match on October 2 against the Tampa Bay Rowdies. The league made no further public comment, and Monterey’s players voted to postpone this weekend’s scheduled game in Tulsa. On Saturday, that match was rescheduled for this upcoming Wednesday, but questions remain as to Monterey’s decision, the harm to FC Tulsa, and the lack of transparency from USL headquarters...[Subscribe]
