Winner: Martin Ojeda and signs of life in Orlando

Well, that was fun.

In what will surely go down as one of the games of the 2026 MLS season, the Florida Derby provided us with a riveting 4-3 away win for Orlando City over Inter Miami. It wasn’t just the high scoring nature of the match, but how we got there that made it interesting. Let’s get into it.

Things started pretty poorly for the visitors, who went down in the fourth minute and were thoroughly dominated for the next 30 minutes before finding themselves staring down a 3-0 deficit. Things seemed bleak with Lionel Messi doing Messi things and Maxime Crepeau being forced to make seven first-half saves – in all, it felt like Orlando was teetering on the brink of another blowout, something that’s become a little too common for the Lions this season.
