Cavan Sullivan might be the biggest name in MLS to play less than 100 minutes.
How many other players can say they were being followed by a documentary crew before they even made their first team debut? Between the media circus, the largest first contract for a homegrown player in MLS history, and the planned move to Manchester City on his 18th birthday, there isn’t much precedent for the level of attention that Sullivan has received before he’s even turned 16.
On the field, though, it’s been a little slower going. After making his MLS debut for the Philadelphia Union last summer, Sullivan has made five other brief substitute appearances – two last year and three this year.
