After fifteen games, the 2025 MLS season is in full swing, and the data is ripe for analyzing players. Sure, I could tell you about the shining superstars or floundering failures, but what about those who have sneakily made their way towards the top of the stat sheets? Follow along, and I’ll tell you who these players are, how they’ve been impacting their squads, and why you should keep your eye on them moving forward.

J.C. Ngando, CM, Vancouver Whitecaps

You would be forgiven if you didn’t know who J.C. Ngando was going into the 2025 MLS season.

The 25-year-old former SoCon Player of the Year, Generation Adidas SuperDraft Pick, and Las Vegas Lights loanee has never been the center of attention in Vancouver. Yes, all of that is real. No, I don’t believe a sentence containing all three of those titles has ever been written. Still, despite occupying a supplemental roster slot after securing a contract extension in December, Ngando has already made his mark in a team filled with talent.
