Ranking every MLS team’s 2026 winter transfer window from worst to first after deadline day

Come yell at us in the comments. Or yell at your team's front office in the comments. Whatever works for you.

You hear that? The sound of a door closing? Yep, that’s the MLS winter window abruptly slamming shut yesterday.

We’re all feeling things today. Some of us are thrilled at the moves our team made. Some of us are angry at the moves our team made, or angry at the moves they didn’t make. Some of us are sad that the window is over. And, let’s be honest, most of us had kind of forgotten that it was even still open.

Whatever you’re feeling today, welcome. Let’s dive into what all chief soccer officers love and rank their transfer business from the comfort of our couches.

30. Philadelphia Union

Notable arrivals: Ezekiel Alladoh, Japhet Sery Larsen, Geiner Martínez, Finn Sundstrom, Agustín Anello, Philippe Ndinga

Notable departures: Kai Wagner, Tai Baribo, Jakob Glesnes, Mikael Uhre

You simply can’t get rid of half of your best players, try to replace them on a budget, and be a serious contender for MLS Cup. I get that this team just won the Supporters’ Shield last year. I also get that they opt to spend a lot of what could go to transfers on their academy instead.

But how are you supposed to lose Kai Wagner, Tai Baribo, and Jakob Glesnes in the same window and make a serious argument that you’re trying to win now? Fans deserve to be upset.
