With nine weeks left to play in the USL season, it’s the time of the year where playoff chances start to fade. Still, even for the clubs that won’t make it past October, there’s at least something to celebrate during the 2025 season.

What’s gone right: Ramiz Hamouda’s development

While the Legion might not be happy with their on-field results, Ramiz Hamouda’s emergence as a regular starter at age 17 is a boon for the club. Hamouda has played everywhere from wingback to the middle of a center back trio, winning 1.7 tackles and 5.1 duels per match in the process. Already a stalwart in the U.S. youth national team setup, Hamouda is likely to earn Birmingham a rich transfer fee in the near future. For now, he’s genuinely contributing to the Legion’s playoff hopes.
