Winner: LAFC, fans of attacking soccer, and whichever team gets to play Orlando City each week

If you win 6-0, you’ll probably end up with a “Winner” tag next to you. I don’t make the rules. I just enforce them. Regardless, you’re welcome, LAFC.

Does it take anything away from LAFC that Orlando City are bad? Like, historically bad? Like, 23 goals allowed in their first six matches bad? I say no.

Even with a midweek Concacaf Champions Cup quarterfinal clash with Cruz Azul looming, LAFC thrilled on Saturday night. Son Heung-min was elite as a No. 10/second forward underneath and to the left of Nathan Ordaz, who did most of the dirty work and hold-up play to open up all kinds of space for Son. In just the second time this regular season that head coach Marc Dos Santos has used that setup with Son underneath and an extra attacker on the field, the South Korean legend dropped a casual four first-half assists in what quickly turned into a demolition derby.
