It’s in the title, folks. Every week during the MLS season, Backheeled will dive into the biggest Winners and Losers from around the league. Winner: Philadelphia Union

It seems the Philadelphia Union have never heard the old expression of ‘don’t kick a man while he’s down’.

DC United are decidedly down these days — they’ve just gutted their front office and scouting department following the hire of agent, author, and now chief soccer officer Erkut Sogut, who’s working remotely — and it was DC United that the Union smacked 6-0 on Saturday night. That result, mixed with Inter Miami dropping points in Toronto, put Philly back in control of their Supporters’ Shield destiny.
