There’s no joy quite like the kind that comes from turning a rival’s hope into heartbreak.

New York City FC experienced that joy on Saturday in their 2-0 win over Charlotte FC, a victory that stopped their Eastern Conference competitors one game short of a 10-game win streak that would’ve been the longest in league history. Instead, the hosts picked up all three points and now find themselves sitting fourth in the East based on points per game (1.77) with just four games left in their regular season schedule.
