With the new MLS season kicking off in less than two weeks, here are some spoilers.
Someone is going to win a whole lot of games (probably Inter Miami). Someone is going to lose a whole lot of games (probably DC United). Some big transfers will disappoint. And some players that only the real die-hards have even heard of will become stars.
The goal of this article is to project which players might go from nobodies to somebodies in 2026. Last season’s edition did pretty well, if I may say so: Alex Freeman was the best fullback in the league and earned a big move to La Liga, while Paul Rothrock and Tate Johnson had excellent seasons for outstanding teams. This season, these are the hype trains to get on while there’s still room.
