Who’s ready to join the core?

That’s the most important on-field question that pops up every year around January camp time.

What makes this year different is that the United States men’s national team actually has a strong core. Tyler Adams, Weston McKennie, and Yunus Musah are pretty much locked-in starters in central midfield. Sergiño Dest and Antonee Robinson are very useful starting fullbacks. Christian Pulisic, Gio Reyna, Tim Weah, and Brenden Aaronson provide an excellent floor with plenty of upside in the halfspaces. Oh, and then there’s ole reliable in goal: Matt Turner.
