​​Inter Miami’s offseason has piled on the stars — and the pressure

With major signings complete and still room to add, Miami’s MLS Cup defense is unlike anything MLS has seen. So, too, is the pressure on the club to win trophies.

Inter Miami clearly haven’t taken much time to admire the shiny new MLS Cup trophy sitting in their cabinet. Turning straight to 2026 instead of reminiscing on their best season to date, this Miami team isn’t just reloading; they’re taking major swings to get even better. 

With a constant flow of “how did they pull that off” signings, Inter Miami are having one of the most impressive offseasons in MLS history. 

Let’s quickly recap the moves they’ve already made:

Yup, Miami did all that and still have an open Designated Player spot, or at least they will if they can move out from under one of their U22 Initiative players. Yes, we’re looking at you, Tomas Aviles. It feels glib to call this winter a glow up – after all, Inter Miami put together the most dominant playoff run in MLS history and set the single-season points record just a couple years ago – but they just might be significantly better to start 2026 than they were to finish 2025.
