It’s a magical two months for every fan where their imaginations are as of yet unfettered by the crushing weight of reality, where possibilities are almost as endless as the hordes of Messi reply bots on Twitter, and for a moment… just a fleeting moment… every team could be a champion.
There are just 74 days until the 2026 MLS season kicks off, and we’ve got questions. 10 questions, to be precise. Here are the biggest questions we’re asking this offseason.
What will the World Cup do for MLS?
This is the million-dollar question for MLS and soccer in North America, and no one really has an answer for this. It will do something for soccer here, but what exactly? We’ve been trying to figure that out since 2018 when the joint bid between the United States, Mexico and Canada won, and we’re not much closer to figuring out the answer.
