Summary

The Timbers missed the playoffs in 2022 for the first time in six seasons. In reponse, they broke their transfer record by acquiring Evander from FC Midtjylland. The eyes will be slightly deeper in the midffield, though, to see if 36-year-old Diego Chara can maintain his level and Eryk Williamson can bounce all the way back from his knee injury in 2022. Head coach Gio Savarese tends to keep his approach simple, sitting in a 4-4-2 and affording his attackers room to generate special moments in the attack.
