Profile

Josh Sargent was the guy for stretches of his time with the U.S. youth national teams. He’s one of the only American players to ever play in both the U-17 and the U-20 World Cups in the same year. After those World Cups, he moved over to Werder Bremen in Germany before heading to Norwich City in England. Unfortunately for Sargent, we haven’t seen much of his goal scoring ability and smooth turns on the ball since he moved to Europe. Instead, he’s been tasked with patiently defending and occasionally playing as a right winger or even as a right wing back.

Sargent has three goals in his last two games for Norwich City in the English Championship. With the USMNT’s No. 9 spot still up for grabs, Sargent could be rounding into form at just the right time.
