The Rapids made a statement in 2021 when they finished atop the Western Conference in the regular season, demonstrating the power of exploiting inefficiencies (set pieces and domestic assets) in MLS. In the 2022, though, they regressed back to their mean and missed the playoffs. They've made a couple international signings ahead of 2023 to complement their MLS veterans, hoping to find the steady, middle ground.
